Hi, Anne here.

I am a native of Northeast Iowa; growing up on a farm outside of Decorah.  I left Iowa after high school graduation in 1990.  I moved to Ft. Collins, CO where I graduated from The Healing Arts Institute where I studied Massage Therapy in 1997-98.  I later returned to Iowa. I'm a 2006 graduate of Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids; where I studied to be a Physical Therapist Assistant.

I started my career as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant at Taylor Physical Therapy in Waverly.  I then worked a couple of years with a contract company in various nursing home facilities in the Waverly, Cedar Falls and Waterloo areas.  I worked at Body Basics Physical Therapy in Waterloo from October 0f 2011-October of 2018.  On October 31, 2018 I opened my own business Mindfulness BodyWork LLC in Waverly as a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Fascial Counterstrain.

When working at Body Basics Physical Therapy I found my love of Counterstrain.  The Jones Institute is where the Strain Counterstrain concept began.  I have grown through continuing education seminars since 2011 with Fasical Counterstrain Techniques.  In November of 2017 I received my License for Massage Therapy in the state of Iowa.  February of 2019 I received my certification for a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher.  I studied under Sean Fargo, Mindfulness Exercises.  I have been a student of the Counterstrain Academy since 2018.  April of 2021 I received my certification as a Breath Coach.  I studied with Lucy Foster-Perkins and Rachel Fearnley, The Whole Health Project.  May of 2021 I received  my certification for completion in the Breath Mastery Fundamentals Course; O2 Collective with Dan Brule.

My husband, Mike and I live on a farm just outside of Plainfield.  We enjoy spending time on our farm with grandkids, family and friends.  I love to play cards with my aunt and uncle.  We enjoy attending our nieces and nephews extracurricular activities.  We enjoy hosting gatherings and holidays on our farm.  Our indoor fur babies are two Shi Tuz boys Skily and Bandit.  Izziebelle is our long-haired black cat.  On the farm we have 2 pygmy goats Pippi and Penelope, 3 Nigerian Dwarfs goats Alice, Pauline and Florence, Hanna the llama, Levi the pony and a few cattle and outdoor cats.

Mindfully, Anne
